Ilaix Moriba's situation at Barcelona continues to be a stalemate. There are many clubs on the trail of the Spanish player. According to 'Sport', the latest to join the list of suitors of the midfielder would be Manchester City. However, the English club would only be interested if the signing would be completely free next summer.

Ilaix Moriba is under contract with Barca until 2022. The club has already made him a renewal offer to keep him beyond that date, a proposal that has not received a response from the player. And the club understands that he will only respond if it is to say that he is leaving for another team.

RB Leipzig, Chelsea and City are the teams that, so far, have reportedly contacted Ilaix Moriba. What's more, according to 'Sport', these three clubs have already made a firm proposal to the player.

In the case of Manchester City, the offer in question would be marked with an asterisk. The Catalan newspaper claims that Guardiola's club would only be interested in signing Ilaix Moriba next summer. With his contract expiring in June next year, City would secure his arrival free of charge.

This option, 'Sport' underlines, would also suit Ilaix Moriba's agents. And the fact is that, if the transfer is completed for the 2022-23 season, with the contract with Barça already fully finalised, the agents would receive a signing bonus.

In the meantime, Barca are clear: they are not going to sell Ilaix. If someone wants to take him out of the Camp Nou before 2022, they will have to pay at least 15 million euros.
