Manchester United announced on Thursday their confirmed squad numbers for the 2023/24 season. Mason Greenwood, who is being considered by the board to return to the squad, has been excluded from the list. The English club stressed that these are provisional numbers.
Mason Greenwood's future at Manchester United is uncertain. The Englishman was suspended in January 2022 for alleged rape, abuse and coercive behaviour towards his current girlfriend.
Both Erik ten Hag and the board are considering giving him a second chance to rebuild his life but selling him in the summer transfer window is also an option.
In fact, the 21-year-old has been excluded from the squad numbers released by the Red Devils on Thursday.
However, the English club included several players such as Fred, Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek, and Scott McTominay, who are expected to leave Old Trafford in the coming weeks. Moreover, new signing Rasmus Hojlund is also not on the list.
