Fosu-Mensah: I pray for Nouri every day
Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah says he prays for close friend Abdelhak Nouri every day after the Ajax midfielder suffered permanent brain damage after collapsing during a friendly.
Speaking to 'BBC Sport', Fosu-Mensah said: "I spoke to his brother, Mohamed, and yeah, it's very difficult, you know. I pray for him every, every day. I'm positive that he'll be well."
"I spoke to his brother, his brother goes to the hospital and checks him out a he's like 'when I have time I have to go and visit him' so that's what I'm going to do."
"It's a difficult time for the family but also for me. I played with him since the age of 8 and have known him a long time so it's very strange that something like this happens to someone so close to you."
"But, I'm here and I have to focus and every time when I can I have contact with his brother or his team-mates at Ajax."
He ended by saying that Nouri's family are "Hurt and broken, but these are strong people."
