Roma manager Paulo Fonseca has faith that Mourinho will do a great job at Roma from next season and he showed no resentment for the club's decision.

Roma boss Paulo Fonseca spoke to the press before his side's Europa League clash against Manchsester United, and the topic of conversation inevitably turned to his countryman Jose Mourinho. It was announced on Tuesday that the experienced manager would be taking over as Roma boss from next season, however Fonseca assured the media that he would do a "great job".

"In my opinion, professionality is a sacred value. I am fine, I am here with the same motivation with which I arrived on the first day. I am motivated, I want to do the best for the club until I leave. Mourinho is a great manager, we all know that, he will do a great job at Roma", Fonseca stated in the press conference previewing the Roma-Manchester United match.

"It's not the hardest moment in my career. I will get through this as usual, with professionality, focused on my work until the final day", he added.

Fonseca will take charge of the Roman side in Thursday's encounter against Manchester United, looking for nothing shy of a sporting miracle - given that his side need to overcome a 6-2 defeat sustained at Old Trafford.

"Obviously it's not easy to beat United 4-0, but in football anything can happen. Nothing is impossible. I have faith", he said.

"I expect a difficult match. Coming up against this club is always complicated. The result gives them the advantage, but we want to win, we will fight until the end", he added.
