Following the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, Roberto Firmino has handed Liverpool fans a boost by declaring he wants to be at the Anfield club long-term.

The Brazilian is in the form of his life as the focal point of Liverpool's front three this season, alongside Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah. So far he has scored 19 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions.

The 26-year-old has credited the stature of the club and manager Jurgen Klopp in helping hit these heights.

"Liverpool are one of the greats in Europe and being able to be part of the history of such a great club is gratifying to me," Firmino told Esporte. "I'm very happy here at Liverpool and I do not see myself out of that club for years to come. The arrival of Jurgen Klopp was very important for my growth within the team. Since he arrived here at Liverpool, he has changed my positioning, put me playing as a forward and that was the watershed for me here at the club.

Liverpool currently sit third in the Premier League, behind both Manchester teams, and face Porto in the Champions League next week.
