Dutch outfit FC Twente are set to be relegated from the league in which they were crowned champions eight years ago.

Twente achieved Eredivisie glory in their 2009-10 campaign, when Steve McClaren guided the side to a league win.

However, their days in the Eredivisie are numbered. Twente were obliterated in a 5-0 defeat to Vitesse that left them four points adrift of safety with only one fixture left to play.

Therefore, their survival in the top-flight league in Holland is mathematically impossible. PSV Eindhoven claimed the title this year after they defeated rivals Ajax on 15th April.
