Everton are in negotiations with PSG for Gana Gueye. The two clubs are working to reach an agreement, but the stumbling block is that Paris are pushing for the Senegalese player to forgo the salary of his final year of his contract.

Everton are looking to strengthen their midfield for next season. The English side are working on bringing in Billy Gilmour, a promising Chelsea youth product, and Gana Gueye, a PSG midfielder.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Toffees are negotiating with the French club for the return of the Senegal international. However, the deal has not yet been finalised, as the Dakar-born midfielder is not willing to forgo his last year of his contract, at least in its entirety.

Gueye is earning a figure of around six million euros per season in the French capital and is aware that he will be on a smaller wage bill at Goodison Park. As such, he is not keen to lose out on such a fee when his PSG deal expires in 2023.

PSG, for their part, have no problem in releasing the former Lille player and allowing him to sign for any team. The only condition is that he does not receive the salary of the last year of his contract.
