Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to claims made by 'El Mundo' that he is prepared to pay whatever it takes to avoid further problems with the Spanish authorities over his tax return.

Don't try to ruin this beatiful moment that I'm experiencing with fake news," The Portuguese hit back on Instagram. "Life is good. Blessings," he added.

Ronaldo is in a rich vein of goalscoring form, with his four goals against Girona on Sunday the latest demonstration of his clinicality in front of goal.

Spanish publication 'El Mundo' claimed on Monday that Ronaldo had offered the Spanish authorities a blank cheque to clear his name amid allegations of tax fraud ammounting to €14.7m between 2011 and 2014. Though the same source also said that the tax office was not considering the player's offer.

The Real star was quick to deny such a move, taking to Instagram to give his thoughts on the matter.

It is clear that Ronaldo maintains a clear conscience regarding the allegations, having already been called to testify in front of a judge.
