Spanish-Brazilian Diego Costa was the subject of one of the most talked-about plays of this week Premier League matchday. The striker clashed with a Brentford defender, headbutted him and was shown a red card by the referee after a VAR review.

Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw by Brentford. Ben Mee gave the home side the lead in the 50th minute before Ruben Neves equalised two minutes later for Wolves, who are still in the midst of a poor run.

Diego Costa, who started against the 'Bees', was not at his best during the match and his participation in the game ended before the final whistle. And all because of a clash with a Brentford defender.

In the 95th minute, the home team's striker and scorer of the opening goal, Ben Mee, got into a tussle with the Wolves striker. The two were grappling with each other when the striker headbutted him.

The referee was alerted from the VAR room and went to the bench area to review the action on the screen. The referee saw it clearly and sent Costa straight off. It is the first red card he has seen in the Premier League.
