Juventus player Angel di Maria spoke to 'El Juego Sagrado', a programme led by Ezequiel Lavezzi, in which he confessed his desire to return to the Argentinian league, precisely to Rosario Central. In addition, they shared ancedotes, motivations and expectations ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Angel Di Maria has very little time left in Europe, or at least, he hinted at that in an interview with Ezequiel Lavezzi for the programme 'El juego sagrado'. On being asked about his future, Di Maria said that he always had in his head that "he wanted to return to Rosario Central."

In addition, he said that "this is year to year" given the difficulties it would mean for him to return, "but the idea of returning is always there." To conclude, he added that "he would like to enjoy a year in Argentinian football."

He also spoke about the much awaited Qatar World Cup, to which he said: "The excitement is always there, that of all Argentinians, we're in a good moment, with a coaching staff which allowed the players to be good."

Nevertheless, Di Maria did not forget the criticism he received in other moments: "I thought several times about leaving, but I had my whife who wanted me to carry on. My parents said to me that that was enough, that I should stop suffering. But it's difficult to say no, every time you put on the shirt, it's a unique moment."

To conclude, Di Maria revealed his two main achievements throughout his career. "One was in 2014, an unforgettable year. I was at Real Madrid, we won the Champions League, we reached the World Cup final. It was an incredible year personally and on the field. And after 2021: having won the Copa Ameriica, having a great year was also something very important."
