Former Newcastle and Chelsea striker Demba Ba has revealed he is no longer planning on playing for the Senegalese national side.

Ba has hit a good run of form in the Chinese Super League, but he has been repeatedly overlooked by Aliou Cisse since recovering from a horrific leg break.

"I've turned the page and I don't have a space for the national team in my head," Ba said to Senegalese publication 'Record'.

"I saw the course of events leading up to being snubbed and ignored by coach Aliou Cisse. He simply cast me aside without talking to me.

"So I just concluded that it's okay and right now the national team is no longer in my thoughts."

Ba has repeatedly questioned the management of Cisse, and does not see much short-term success for the Senegalese national side.

"I do not think that Senegal can win anything in 2019. And I hope I'm wrong." he said.
