The Belgian revealed that a disagreement with his former boss Mourinho led to his Blues exit

Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that a run-in with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho over unfair treatment was the reason for his departure from the Blues in January 2014.

De Bruyne now plays for Manchester City having signed from Wolfsburg at the start of the season in a £55 million deal and he will be facing his former club on Saturday.

He told the Telegraph about how Mourinho reacted when he asked to leave the club, "He called in all the attacking midfielders,

"He showed us the stats of his six players - assists, goals, passing percentage, key passes, dribbles. He wanted to prove I didn't perform on the level of the others.

"I simply answered him: 'Sorry, that's not logical. I have played less games than the others. How can you compare me to the others?' That was just not fair in my eyes."

The 24-year-old stated that he feels like he has nothing to prove to Chelsea in today's match.
