The Belgian ace suffered a knee injury after the opening weekend of the current Premier League campaign, as Manchester City opened their account in emphatic fashion by beating Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates.
However he result was somewhat soured for the 'Citizens' with the later injury to De Bruyne; who was set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, a big concern for the champions as the Belgian was one of their standout players the previous season.
In the absence of the playmaker; City have won five matches and drawn two, and now sit level on points with Chelsea and Liverpool, while holding a superior goal difference.
De Bruyne was see laughing and joking with some of his City teammates, and manager Pep Guardiola; a strong portion of the squad are still either on international duty this week.
Fabian Delph also trained with the remaining City players, although the midfielder is still considered to be a doubt for the 'blues' return to action this weekend.
