Danilo Pereira got injured in Portugal's training session before facing Uruguay and he fractured three ribs, according to 'A Bola'. The Portuguese defender will miss the rest of the group stages and when he returns will depend on his injury.

Subject to official confirmation, Danilo Pereira has fractured three ribs during Saturday's training session and he will miss the matches with Uruguay and South Korea.

The central defender will not play another group stage game and his return will depend on the state of his injury, Portuguese paper 'A Bola' reports.

After having had the relevant medical tests, Danilo was ordered to rest completely and Fernando Santos will have to alter the Portuguese defence to try and book a place in the last 16.

Antonio Silva or Pepe could play alongside Ruben Dias in the Portuguese defence although the one who is most likely to replace Danilo is the Benfica defender as the former Real Madrid man is still recovering from a knee sprain.
