Danilo has left Real Madrid's California training camp as he jets into the UK for a medical with Manchester City.

That's according to Madrid-based journalist Dermot Corrigan who says that Zinedine Zidane has confirmed the Brazilian's departure.

City have been looking for reinforcements at full-back all summer following the departures of Pablo Zabaleta, Gael Clichy and Bakary Sagna and it seems like they may be closing in on two more with both Danilo and Benjamin Mendy expected to arrive for medicals with the club in the near future.

Danilo has decided to leave the Bernabéu this summer after failing to nudge ahead of Dani Carvajal in the Real Madrid pecking order. The Brazil international made just 17 La Liga starts last season and is keen to find more regular football.

Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for the player earlier in the summer but their interest appears to have cooled and City have swooped.

It is believed that the 26-year-old has agreed a five-year contract with Pep Guardiola's side.

The moves could see City rack up over £100m in spending this summer on full-backs alone having already spent £50m on Kyle Walker and with Mendy expected to cost a similar amount. The deal for Danilo will be somewhere in the region of the £28m Real paid for the player when they signed him from Porto two years ago.

Zidane confirms Danilo "has gone now".
