Claudio Bravo has revealed he joined City because Barca didn't offer him a first team place.
The 33-year-old joined Manchester City this summer from Barcelona, where he's been playing for two years. Now he revealed what the reason of his transfer were.
The Chilean was Luis Enrique's first-choice goalkeeper ever since he arrived in Barca but his former coach told him that Marc-Andre ter Stegen would get this role from the current season on.
He couldn't accept this decision and decided to leave and signed a £15.4m contract eiht Manchester City.
He told 'Cadena Ser': "The club made me an offer to renew but, seeing their plans, I also made them understand my position. 'I was very sincere, I did not want to sit on the bench. It's not my thing. And they understood.
"In Barcelona I always devoted myself to doing my best, I always felt the support. What appeared in the press – that we (Ter Stegen and him) had a bad relationship and things were uncomfortable at the end – was not true. It was never a problem, indeed, we both always benefitted from the competition".
