Reports in England claim that Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus could be set to be rewarded with a huge new contract as the club look to reward the youngster for his fine form.

English publication 'The Daily Mail' claims that Jesus' agent Cristiano Simoes has flown to Manchester to open talks over a new contract worth over £100,000 per week.

Jesus only joined City last January but such has been his form that the club are prepared to reward him with a fresh deal.

The player's current contract at the Etihad runs until the summer of 2021, with the aforementioned source claiming that the Brazilian signed a £70,000 per week deal when he joined the club from Palmeiras last year.

The 20-year-old has made a devastating impact since making the move to England, scoring 20 goals in 27 games since joining the 'Citizens'.

However, despite City's desire to reward his form, it is thought that fresh deals for David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne and Fernadinho are their priority for now.

Jesus has scored nine goals in 16 games in all competitions so far this season and is currently in Lille on international duty with Brazil ahead of their friendly against Japan tomorrow.
