Sergio Aguero only managed to play 20 minutes in last night's World Cup qualifying match against Ecuador for Argentina which gave reason for his substitution by Manuel Pellegrini in last weekend's Premier League match.

"Aguero is fine, we've just taken precautionary action", explained Gerardo Martino the Argentina coach. The ex-Barcelona manager made sure that no further injury was had by Manchester City's main striker.

The Striker had muscle problems and the injury seemed to be severe. The City man has suffered an injury to his femoral biceps of the left leg and is expected to be sidelined for between 3 and 4 weeks, although the exact period will be known today when further testing.

After the craziness of last weekend which saw the Argentina striker blast five past a nervous Newcastle side, it would seem that Pellegrini had every reason to take the striker off as he felt a little niggle. Even though the injury wasn't in the same place, the striker wasn't feeling 100 per cent.

"The match started with a good rhythm" Martino said. "It's clear that the player carried over the injury from last weekend, and Manuel Pellegrini took him off after 60-65 minutes because he was overloaded, but I would like to say that the injury isn't in the same place
