Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta's former teammate, lauded the Chelsea footballer. In comments to 'The Sun', he praised the Spanish player's qualities. Azpilicueta is getting linked even more with a move to Barcelona.
"He's simply a history of complete success since he came to the club. Look how many players come and leave Chelsea. There are big money signings, great footballers who have been struggling to stay for many years. It's difficult to do that at Chelsea," Cahill said about the 10 seasons Azpilicueta has now been at Stamford Bridge.
And he added: "You don't last as long as he does at Chelsea without being a fantastic player. But you also need more than that. You need a mentality, strong work rate, a thick skin. Having just one of those things isn't enough. He's got all of them. If you had 11 players like him, Chelsea would win the Premier League every year."
"When he came through the door for the first time, I was really impressed by how he worked. The way he trains is the way he plays: intensely. He's one of the best bits of business Chelsea did. He's always 100%. He never has a bad day. He's been fundamental to the club's success. I'd keep him at Chelsea," Cahill concluded.
