Chelsea fans will be 'punching the air'
Chelsea fans wil be delighted with the arrival of striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, says former winger Pat Nevin.
The striker has arrived in London to complete his medical and is expected to sign a five-year deal, with former Blues winger Pat Nevin believing Morata is the perfect signing for the Premier League champions.
"It's not the one they were left with, it's the one they wanted" Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live. "I think he was the number one choice that Antonio Conte wanted".
The Chelsea manager has signed an improved contract and with the arrival of Morata "most Chelsea fans will be smiling and punching the air, much the same way that I was" said Nevin.
"It's beginning to look like Antonio Conte's Chelsea side. Put him in a team where you've got the likes of Cesc Fabregas, the likes of Eden Hazard giving you plenty of opportunities... Morata can do that."
Morata has Champions League experience and was second top scorer for Real Madrid despite not starting. The striker now looks set to be Chelsea's fourth major signing of the summer after Antonio Rudiger, Willy Caballero and Tiemoue Bakayoko.
