Chelsea are set to miss out on yet another one of their targets, with Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata close to sealing his return to the Serie A.

'It'd be nice to have one from Andrea Belotti, Morata or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. We'll see who the choice lands on, even if there are also other names who haven't been splashed on the front pages yet', Milan CEO Marco Fassone stated. 'Evidently we are still thinking of doing something in that position'.

According to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', AC Milan are very close to completing a deal for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, maning Chelsea would once again miss out on their man after top-target Lukaku snubbed the Blues for United.

Manchester United and Chelsea both had their respective bids turned down by Real Madrid after they failed to reach an agreement, which prompted Mourinho to turn to the Belgian centre-forward.

AC Milan would be close to completing the deal for £61 million, way below Madrid's £79m asking price. The reason for this is that Zidane's side intend to use the money to push their bid for Monaco youngster Kylian Mbappe.

Bonucci, Biglia, Kessie, Conti, Mussacchio, Rodriguez, Calhanoglu... Morata? AC Milan continue their spending spree this summer.
