Edinson Cavani left it until the dying moments of the group stage to score his first goal of the 2018 World Cup for Uruguay, piling the misery on hosts Russia in the process.
Following narrow victories over Saudi Arabia and Egypt, Uruguay finally let loose against the hosts on Monday, racing into a 2-0 lead and seeing their opponents reduced to 10 men.
It always looked like being a comfortable win for Oscar Tabarez's side and there was an added bonus last on as Cavani got his World Cup monkey off his back.
Free-scoring at club level, Cavani had previously failed to find the net for his country at this summer's World Cup but when his goal eventually came it could hardly have been simpler.
Diego Godin rose highest to meet a corner from the right and whilst Igor Akinfeev did enough to keep out his initial effort, the ball fell kindly for Cavani to react quickest and fire home from six yards.
