Iran goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand has returned to training after suffering a facial injury in the World Cup match against England.

The goalkeeper had to be substituted in the first half after taking a severe blow to the face. After being treated for ten minutes on the pitch, the Iranian goalkeeper tried to continue, but was forced to leave the field after a few moments.

This Thursday he returned to training with a face mask that covers a large part of his face and with which he can train with the rest of his team-mates without risking a more serious injury.

Carlos Queiroz's Iran, after a 6-2 defeat to England in their opening match, will play their second group stage game at the Qatar 2022 World Cup on Friday against Gareth Bale's Wales. The Iranians are bottom of Group B.
