Germany and France took part in an international friendly on Tuesday night, and according to 'Mundo Deportivo', Barcelona watched on as one of their transfer targets scored in the 2-2 draw.

Eralier this season, reports surfaced suggesting Real Madrid and Barcelona's shared interest in RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, and it seems the Catalan giants want to swoop in for the German ahead of their La Liga arch-rivals.

Werner relished the visit from sporting director Robert Fernandez, scoring Germany's equaliser in the first half in Berlin. Barcelona will have noted his contributions against a tough opponent such as France.

The 21-year-old's overall figures and enourmous development attracted interest from Barcelona last summer, but some ear issues halted his progress. November has seen him recover the best version of himself, with three goals and one assist to his name so far.
