Atletico Madrid returned to training after the match against Lokomotiv Moscow. It was the substitutes who went out on the pitch to train.

Atletico Madrid held a training session this Thursday in which only the players who were substitutes in the draw of the Champions League match against Lokomotiv Moscow (0-0) participated.

The Brazilian Felipe Monteiro, Victor Machín 'Vitolo', Mario Hermoso, the French Thomas Lemar and Geoffrey Kondogbia, the Serbian Ivan Saponjic and the Croatian goalkeeper Ivo Grbic were the players who took the field together with a group of youth players.

Atlético will have hardly any recovery time after the European stumble at home, as on Saturday they will play at Mestalla against Valencia, so on Friday morning the Argentinean coach Diego Pablo Simeone will have only one session to prepare for the match with all the available players.

The team has six casualties for the duel against Valencia: the Uruguayan Luis Suarez and Lucas Torreira, in quarantine after their positive in COVID-19 last week, Diego Costa, the Mexican Hector Herrera, Manu Sanchez and Croatian Sime Vrstaljko are all out.

Simeone recovers Kondogbia for the game, who can't play in the Champions League because he joined after the registration period closed, but he will be able to play against his former team, from which he left at the beginning of November to sign for Atlético, which had one more month to sign because of the departure of the Ghanaian Thomas Partey to Arsenal via his termination clause.
