Atletico's defence is the second most secure in Europe

After a shaky start, Diego Simeone has recovered his team's famous defensive strength to put them into a favourable position in the table. After making it through what he described as the worst time of his career at Atletico, they are only a point off the leaders- Sevilla.

To a large extent, 'El Cholo' has recovered due to four successive matches in which Oblak hasn't been beaten. This season Atleti have not conceded on five occasions, 62.5% of their games. 

They share the achievement with Manchester City, who look to be having another dominant season in the Premier League and Real Betis, one of the biggest revelations of the last few La Liga seasons, bringing back former glories. 

However the team to top the list are Stade Reims in Ligue 1 who, despite being 17th, have secured six clean sheets, with goalkeeper Edouard Mendy starring. However they have played one more game, meaning Atletico could match their record. 

However if we were to take into account the lower leagues in Europe, Alcoron in the Segunda Division have only conceded two goals all season, keeping six clean sheets out of eight.
