Atletico Madrid's international fan clubs union have shown their discontent over the possible signinjg of Cristiano Ronaldo. They say that the former Real Madrid is completely the opposite of Atletico's DNA.
Cristiano Ronaldo's name is once again being linked with the Metropolitano. A lot is being spoken about his possible move to Atletico.
Atletico Madrid's international fan club has wanted to make it clear that he does not agree at all with his possible signing. "We express out absolute refusal to a hypothetical signing of Cristiano," the statement reads.
And this organisation explains why they cannot see the sight of Cristiano in an Atletico shirt: "The player mentioned represents the antithesis of the values which constitutes the signs of identity of our Atletico like effort, generosity, simplicity and humility."
They do not even want the Portuguese if his signing assures them a trophy. "Even in the unlikely scenario of the signing of a player in true decline like Cristiano could guarantee us a trophy, we still wouldn't accept his signing," they add.
"The sense of belonging to our Atletico sentiment is not something that is at his reach, unfortunately, so he could never have our affection or recognition. Therefore, we ask the club to reject his possible signing, if in any moment it has been considered.
Cerezo was the latest to speak about this. "Cristiano? I don't know who has invented that story...," he replied. The fan clubs union, in any case, has made their views clear to the Atletico president.
