Arsenal midfielder Bukayo Saka has become the first player to reach double figures for goals and assists this season in the Premier League. The England player scored a brace and provided an assist against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Arsenal surged eight points clear at the top of the Premier League after their home victory over Crystal Palace.

Mikel Arteta's side needed just 45 minutes against struggling Palace to erase the bitter taste of that loss. Saka followed Martinelli's goal by doubling Arsenal's lead before half-time. Granit Xhaka netted the third after the interval and Jeff Schlupp's reply was no consolation as the influential Saka's second capped Arsenal's stylish display

As a result, Bukayo Saka has become the first player to reach double figures for goals and assists this season in the Premier League. The 21-year-old has scored twelve goals and provided ten assists.

The England international is a key player in his team as he has started 32 competitive matches out of the 37 he has played. The midfielder is the 44th different player to achieve this feat in a Premier League season, and only the eighth for Arteta's side.

Furthermore, his manager praised him after Sunday's match: "He remains humble, he knows that he can still be much better, do things a lot better than he does and that’s a big given because he’s still 21 years old," Arteta said.
