The platform allows gamers to broadcast their progress while they play. And Mesut Ozil has now joined other Premier League players in signing up to the popular site.

The Arsenal playmaker announced the deal with streaming site 'Twitch' via a post on his personal Instagram and Twitter pages on Wednesday. England star Dele Alli, an avid videogame fan, is among the stars already signed up as members to the service.

In the social media post, Ozil can be seen sat at a computer, posing with various pieces of merchandise, alongside the message: "'Thanks to Twitch for setting up my account today. Make sure to follow me on Twitch @mesutozil. First streams coming soon - stay tuned."

This is not the first time that Ozil has expressed his interest in videogames. He publicised the setting up of his own FIFA 19 side alongside eWorld Cup Champion Mosad Aldossary.
