Argentina manager Jorge Sampaoli made the shock decision to not field a recognised striker for his side's World Cup last 16 clash with France on Saturday.

Aguero had started the tournement as Argentina's starting striker, scoring in the draw with Iceland.

However, he struggled after that and was dropped for the must-win clash with Nigeria, with Higuain taking his place.

With the stakes higher than ever though, Sampaoli opted for youth over experience, handing a start to Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon, who came in as the only change from the game against the 'Super Eagles'.

The change means Sampaoli has still never named the same team for two consecutive games.
