Alexis Sanchez missed out on best-ever wages at Man City
Had his £60 million move to the Etihad gone through, the Arsenal star would have become the highest-paid footballer ever at Manchester City.

After the transfer deadline, Alexis Sanchez will finally remain at the Emirates, with Arsenal failing to find a replacement for the Chilean.
As well as the prospect of Champions League football and a reunion with former boss Pep Guardiola, the striker will miss out on the staggering wages he was offered at the Etihad.
As revealed by the Daily Star, Sanchez would have collected a basic weekly pay packet of £275,000, with potential bonuses adding up to another £50,000. That is, a weekly £325k, plus a signing-on fee of £8 million.
After the move broke down Sanchez will no longer be the best-paid footballer in Manchester City's history. The striker is poised for a move in January though, no doubt under the terms initially agreed upon.
