Ajax closed the signing of Lucas Ocampos on Tuesday for a fee of around 20 million euros. Sevilla welcomed the deal in order to enter the market in the final stages of the season with a certain degree of solvency.

The departure of Lucas Ocampos from Sevilla FC has become a reality in a matter of days and quickly. Last Monday, the club were expecting an offer from Ajax and this Tuesday, they have reached an agreement with the Dutch club.

According to 'Relevo', the Argentine international will head to the Eredivisie for around 20 million euros. The poor level shown in recent months by the player and the economic boost that Monchi will have to go to the market led to the departure of the former Marseille player.

Ocampos' original intention was to remain in the Andalusian club. In fact, the South American attacker denied rumours of a possible departure with an Instagram post: "Some moments from this year, already looking forward to seeing you next season".

The deal between Sevilla and Ajax was speeded up when the winger's agent visited the Jose Ramon Cisneros Palacios training complex to meet with Monchi. It is worth remembering that the Quilmes player did not train this Tuesday in the training session led by Julen Lopetegui.
