Aguero injury not as bad as first feared
Manchester City are hopeful that striker Sergio Aguero will not be ruled out for too long after he was involved in a car crash in Amsterdam.
Manchester City are hopeful that striker Sergio Aguero will not be ruled out for too long after he was involved in a car crash in Amsterdam.
The Argentine broke a rib in a road traffic accident after watching Colombian singer Maluma live in the Dutch city on Thursday night.
However, English news outlet 'Sky Sports' reports that the injury is not as serious as City officials first feared and that the striker should miss no more than two to four weeks.
The injury will still rule the 29-year-old out of City's clash with Chelsea on Saturday, as well as Argentina's World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Ecuador during the international break, but it is thought that the former Atletico Madrid man's seatbelt saved him from much more significant damage.
Despite the incident, City boss Pep Guardiola defended the player, saying that he was free to spend his day off as he wished and admitting that he has no interest in policing his players 24/7.
Aguero meanwhile took to Twitter to thank those who had wished him well in his recovery.
