San Mamés ready to host Sevilla
After two weeks of intense work, Athletic announced that San Mamés will debut its new pitch in the next league match against Sevilla.
Athletic Club will be celebrating the duel that will take place this Saturday 31 October against Sevilla. The Basque team will be playing on the new San Mamés pitch for the first time.
The Bilbao club started changing the turf after its last home match against Levante.
In that match, the San Mamés grass looked pretty bad and had been deteriorating badly since it hosted the women's Champions League finals in the summer.
Even the coach, Gaizka Garitano, complained about the state of the surface which, after two weeks of intense work, will look fantastic against an important rival.
