Alexis Sanchez was offered to Real Madrid... and they said no!

Arsenal agreed a move with the Citizens before they pulled out at the last minute. Sanchez came within inches of a reunion with Guardiola, but Arsenal failed to find a replacement in time.
After the deal collapsed, the Chilean striker was offered to Real Madrid, as reported by Spanish outlet Don Balon. However, the La Liga giants shockingly turned down the move.
The mentioned source revealed that the player's agent approached Real Madrid, but Zinedine Zidane declined the offer claiming his squad had no need for the forward.
The French manager is happy with his side, and deemed it an unnecessary expenditure. However, the 'Blancos' are open to signing the 28-year-old in the summer.
Alexis Sanchez's current deal at the Emirates expires next year and a contract renewal is looking increasingly unlikely, so Real Madrid will be part of a host of clubs that battle to sign the striker on a free.
