Alba's agents meet with Barca to discuss the player's future

Barcelona, through Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff, held a meeting on Wednesday with Jordi Alba's representatives to assess the future of the left-back, who has one more year left on his contract.
The full-back, who has been with the club for 11 years, is one of the highest paid players in the squad and his salary will increase exponentially in the coming season, due to the deferred payments agreed in the pandemic.
According to some reports, the full-back from L'Hospitalet de Llobregat could earn around 18 million euros net. For that reason, and because Barcelona need to free up wage bill to increase their 'financial fair play', they consider that a pay cut in the case of Alba is essential to achieve the objectives they are pursuing.
For that reason, Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff met with the representatives of Interstar Sport, Vicente Fores and Jose Manuel Tarraga, who are the agents of the full-back, according to different images recorded in the car park of the Joan Gamper training complex.
A couple of options have been put on the table: the termination of the contract in order to negotiate with another club or a major pay cut.
