Alaba's fitness in question for Copa del Rey final with Barcelona

Alaba sustained discomfort in his left leg during Wednesday's 1-0 win over Getafe, which forced him off at half-time. His availability for Saturday's final at La Cartuja in Seville remains in question.

Club sources told EFE that the issue is "not serious", but his inclusion in the squad will depend on how he responds in the coming hours. After the match, Ancelotti left little room for optimism: "It will be difficult for them to recover," he said, referring to both Camavinga and Alaba.

The Austrian defender trained on Thursday with the rehab staff at the Valdebebas training complex and is expected to test himself in the first of two training sessions planned for the day before the final. If he comes through it without discomfort, Ancelotti will include him in the squad list.

The first session will take place in Madrid on Friday morning and is expected to determine whether Alaba makes the cut. A second, lighter session will follow at 20.00 CEST at the final's venue, La Cartuja Stadium in Seville.

Alaba had been a key figure for Ancelotti in the Champions League quarter-finals against Arsenal, starting both legs at left-back. However, the manager ruled out using him in that position again, indicating Fran Garcia as his likely replacement.

Camavinga, who had also been preferred in that role at times, has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a complete tear of the left adductor tendon late on in the match against Getafe.
