Today, Amsterdam holds 48% and 39% goes to shareholders or private companies, in addition to the aforementioned 13% that belongs to Ajax.
The intention for the city to sell 23% to the club was decided in 2017, when after Johan Cruyff's death it was agreed to change the name of the then Amsterdam Arena
