Ajax have offered Argentinian international Lisandro Martinez an improved contract, a source close to negotiations told 'EFE'.
The defender, who arrived in Amsterdam in 2019 from Defensa y Justicia, is currently a fundamental part of coach Erik ten Hag's team and his current contract ends in 2023.
Ajax technical director Marc Overmars told the Dutch paper 'Algemmen Dagblad' that the club offered Martinez a new contract two months back and that "there have been several conversations" since then.
Lisandro joined up with Ajax for pre-season last Monday in Austria, so the club will take the opportunity to "resume talks with the defender," Overmars added.
The player is currently doing well on the pitch as he won the league and cup in the Netherlands last term as well as the Copa America with Argentina this summer.
