What is remembered as one of the mayor defeats in football history was discussed again by former Real Madrid player Drenthe. He was present the dreadful day in the Santiago Bernabeu the 2nd of March of 2009.

The Dutch player confesses: "The defeat we suffered was so tough, maybe even tougher than the 1-4, this is why we needed to go out to party to clear our heads."

"Actually in Madrid it is a taboo to go out. You can go out but not if you loose. People cannot see you partying after a defeat. But we were a team of young players, I will not tell names, but I got a call of a colleagues saying, come on Roy, let's go", he added.

Drenthe did not even tell his wife about it. "She couldn't know, because I knew it was a bad idea to go out after a such a defeat, so I sneaked out. I did not even turn on my car, I went in neutral gear so that she would not hear me.

I went down the hill and when I was away from the house I started the car", he concluded.
