A Benfica fan travelled 28 hours by car to watch his team and ended up in the wrong Frankfurt!

The 24 year-old Benfica fan shared on Instagram (@Alvaroslb1994) the route of his trip to Frankfurt to enjoy the Europa League clash. Alvaro started his journey from Amadora, near Lisbon and he headed for Germany.
The problem is that his sat-nav did not put Frankfurt am Main, the city where Eintracht Frankfurt play, but Frankfurt (Oder), a city with almost 700,000 inhabitants less which is in the Eastern part of Germany, just on the border with Poland.

Alvaro uploaded a photo of the sign on the motorway which had signs for the exit towards Frankfurt (Oder) and when he reached, he posed with the sign which said Frankfurt (Oder).

The story was spread on social media and various users let him know on Instagram of his mistake and that he was six hours away (613km) by car from Frankfurt am Main, the city where the match will be held this Thursday.
The boy published an Instagram story when he realised his mistake. "We are f***ed." And the worst thing for Alvaro is that to reach Frankfurt del Oder from Portugal, you have to pass Frankfurt am Main!
Shortly afterwards, Alvaro showed his good sense of humour through another story. The Benfica fan shared an image of a media company which had reported on his story and commented the following: "Now we are famous... for being stupid."
