Liverpool's season is not off to the best start. The Reds drew 1-1 against Crystal Palace after drawing their opening league game against Fulham.
The first half was controlled by Liverpool. The Reds had plenty of chances to score but failed to do so. However, Crystal Palace managed to go into the break with the lead thanks to a goal from Zaha. In the 32nd minute, Eze dribbled past Fabinho near the halfway line and found Zaha in space with a long pass. The Ivory Coast player received the ball and made a great run and once inside the box, beat Alisson with a quality shot to the far post.
Nunez almost scored for Liverpool before the end of the first half after receiving the ball inside the box following a great pass from Elliott. The Uruguayan controlled the ball with his chest, and shot across but the ball hit the post.
The Uruguayan was also in the spotlight on his Anfield debut not only because of his goalscoring chances, but also because he was sent off in the 56th minute for a clash with Andersen. A 10-man Liverpool had 30 minutes to come from behind.
Liverpool's hopes were boosted by Luis Diaz's 61st minute screamer to level the scores. The Colombian received the ball on the left flank, dribbled past three Crystal Palace players and unleashed a powerful shot to the far post that Guaita could not stop. Palace would have a chance to take the lead again after Doucoure's cross was finished by Zaha but the striker hit the post.
Despite having several chances at the end of the game, the home side failed to take all three points and there are now four points separating Klopp's side from Guardiola's team.
