The former Germany captain is not in Jose Mourinho's plans and is free to find a new club. However, Schweinsteiger claims he would not leave for another European team.
The 32-year-old released the following message to his fans on Twitter: "MUFC will be my last club in Europe. I respect other clubs but Manchester United was the only one which could make me leave Bayern Munich. I will be ready, if the team needs me.
"This is all I can say about my current situation. I want to thank the fans for their amazing support over the recent weeks".
The midfielder is currently earning £140,000-a-week, and it is thought that Manchester United would accept offers as low as £2m in order to get the German off the wage bill at Old Trafford.
