Manchester City are in talks with Espanyol over a move for Mamadou Sylla, according to Sport.
The 22-year-old forward made his senior debut for Espanyol last season, but only started two La Liga games, while he made another 12 appearances off the bench.
Guardiola is reportedly interested in acquiring the young talent, and is prepared to table a €1 million (£850,000) offer, with the player signing a five-year deal.
However, the striker won't go straight to England, but will continue his devlopment with a loan spell at Girona, who play in Spain's second division.
The Senegal-born forward began his career at Barcelona’s La Masia academy, and very highly rated in Spain.
