Marco Asensio is the man the the 'Old Lady' will turn to to replace their talisman Paulo Dybala, should the 23-year-old swap Turin for Barcelona this summer.
With the former Palermo man's future very much up in the air, Juventus are planning for the worst and it is understood that they have set their sights firmly on Real's young star.
In terms of syle of play, the two players are rather similar, both classy operators with good technique, excellent shooting ability from distance and clinicality in front of goal. It appears that Neymar's potential move to PSG could have a massive impact on the footballing world as a whole, causing a domino effect that ends with Real losing Asensio, quite ironic it must be said.
English publication 'The Daily Star' points out that should Asensio become available, which is very unlikely, Max Allegri's side would not be the only team interested in the player. It claims that English duo Liverpool and Arsenal are also following the Spain U21 international closely.
Despite all this interest, Real Madrid are not concerned about the interest in Asensio. The player is a part of the club's long-term plans after enjoying a breakthrough season last time out and the Bernabeu-based side are believed to be preparing a new deal for the former Real Mallorca man in an attempt to ward off the sharks that are circling.
"My intention is to continue with Real Madrid and to play a lot of minutes, my goal is to be a starter for Real," explained the 21-year-old at the end of last season. Whilst a move away from the club isn't impossible this summer, at this point it looks very unlikely.
Everything will depend on what happens with Dybala, something which may depend on what happens with Neymar...
