Barcelona have agreed a deal in principle with Lyon for Samuel Umtiti, according to Mundo Deportivo.
'Reliable' sources close to Lyon have claimed that the two clubs have come to an agreement, and all that is left to do is for Barcelona to agree personal terms with the defender and for him to complete a medical.
The relationship between Presidents Josep Maria Bartomeu and Jean-Michel Aulas is believed to have been the catalyst during the negotiations, with the Barca chief a fluent speaker of French.
Umtiti is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Catalan club after Euro 2016, where the defender is representing host nation France.
