Wirtz weighing options as Leverkusen push to retain him

Speaking ahead of Leverkusen's Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund, Carro was candid in his assessment: "My gut feeling? It's 50-50," he told DAZN.
He stressed the importance of finding a solution that satisfies all parties involved — the player, his family, and the club. "Ultimately, Florian must decide for himself when and how he wants to take the next step."
Wirtz, who is contracted until 2027, is reportedly attracting strong interest from Bayern Munich, with some sources suggesting an agreement between the player and the Bavarian giants may already be in place. Despite the mounting speculation, Leverkusen are eager to keep hold of their prized asset.
Sporting director Simon Rolfes reaffirmed the club's strong relationship with the player and his family, underlining his importance. "He's still a Bayer 04 player and we're doing everything we can to ensure he stays with us next season," Rolfes said.
Though he refused to comment on a potential transfer fee, Wirtz is currently valued at around €140 million. Rolfes emphasised that the key lies in convincing the German international that Leverkusen remains the right environment for his development. "That's our mission – to show him that this is still the best place for him to grow."
