The last time that the Wales football team played at the Principality was in March 2011 in a European Championship qualifier that saw their hopes of qualifying ended by England. Since then, the Welsh squad have played their home games at the Cardiff City stadium or the Liberty Stadium.
FAW chief executive Jonathan Ford said: ''This is a fantastic opportunity for our supporters to see a great team and world-class players. We want to provide everyone with the opportunity of watching the game and playing at the Principality Stadium enables us to do so.''
Wales will make their return to the stadium after a seven-and-a-half year absence, but the Principality Stadium has still hosted elite football tournaments since 2011, namely the 2017 Champions League final between Real Madrid and Juventus.
The stadium manager Mark Williams added: ''It is unquestionable that the Principality Stadium is an internationally renowned football venue and we're pleased to welcome Wales back for their match against Spain.''
