VIDEO: Sergio González’s superb strike in Copa del Rey final

Espanyol and Atletico Madrid met in the 2000 Copa del Rey final in Valencia and 'Los Pericos' were the favourites. 

Raul Tamudo had put Espanyol ahead after two minutes following a goalkeeping error. Then Sergio Gonzalez, the current Valladolid coach, made it 2-0 six minutes from time. Atletico passed the ball among themselves and lost the ball to Sergio just outside the box. He controlled and then fired a thunderbolt into the back of the net.

Despite Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink pulling one back for Atletico in the 90th minute, Espanyol won their first Copa del Rey trophy in 60 years. Check out Sergio's goal in the video above!
