VIDEO: RM's third CL in a row on horror night for Karius

Real Madrid and Liverpool met in the 2018 Champions League final in Kiev. The Spanish side were looking for third successive Champions League, but it was the Liverpool goalkeeper, Loris Karius, who was in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Things started badly for Liverpool when Mo Salah had to be replaced after 30 minutes due to a shoulder injury. Then in the 51st minute, Benzema gave Madrid the lead after Karius threw the ball out along the ground and Benzema stuck his foot out to divert it into the empty net.
Sadio Mane levelled for Liverpool four minutes later before Bale's overhead kick made it 2-1 to Real Madrid in the 64th minute. Seven minutes from time, the Welshman got his second when his long range shot was inexplicably fumbled by Karius into his own net.
